Variety of materials à la myVALE

All of our products are made from high quality materials.
Each material has its own individual properties, tailored to design and function.

OUR FOOTBED COVERS

The footbed cover is another layer that is installed within the manufacturing process according to the customer's wishes. In general, it gives the sandal more stability, can take on moisture-regulating and breathable functions and is, last but not least, an important design component.

Suede Leather

Very resistant real leather, open-pored and therefore breathable, high wearing comfort, good moisture transport. Over time, the slightly fibrous structure becomes smoother as a result of the load on the feet and the contours of the soles of the feet stand out on the material. Due to its open structure, there may be slight discoloration due to the material.

Cleaning recommendation:

For regular cleaning, we recommend brushing with a coarse-bristled, grease-free shoe brush. If the material is heavily soiled, it can also be rubbed with curd soap and water and rinsed out with clear water.

Alcantara

Very comfortable to wear, hard-wearing synthetic fiber, antistatic, easy to clean, breathable and allergy-friendly. Over time, the slightly fibrous structure becomes smoother as a result of the load on the feet and the contours of the soles of the feet stand out on the material. Due to the open structure, it absorbs moisture well. Due to the material, slight discoloration may occur.

Cleaning recommendation:

For regular cleaning, we recommend brushing with a coarse-bristled, grease-free shoe brush. If the material is heavily soiled, it can also be rubbed with curd soap and water and rinsed out with clear water.

Microfibre

Very hard-wearing synthetic fiber with an antibacterial effect.
Visually it is very similar to nappa leather. Available in different colors.
For use in wet areas, UV-resistant and skin-friendly.

Cleaning recommendation:
In the case of light soiling, treatment with a damp cloth is sufficient. For more stubborn soiling, a mild soap (curd soap) can also be used.

Nappa leather

Elegant, smooth leather, breathable, moisture regulating, available in different colors. Depending on the article, the grain / surface structure can be more or less intense.
On the part of the tannery, the surface is fixed in color. However, if there is intensive contact with moisture, the material can discolour under pressure. Nappa leather is not suitable for regular use in wet areas.

Cleaning recommendation:
Nappa leather should be wiped clean from time to time with a slightly damp cloth without excessive pressure or friction. After cleaning, the material should be completely dry before being used again in order not to impair the function of the color fixing.

OUR STRAPS / SHAFT MATERIALS

Even more complex than the selection of footbed covers is the range of materials that we use to manufacture our straps and shafts. Starting with nappa leather, nubuck leather, microfibre to nylon, denim, various design leather to salmon leather, kangaroo leather, lamb leather and lacquer.

Regardless of whether you are a leather lover or a vegan, for wet areas or long country tours - we offer the right material for every purpose.

Nappa leather (cowhide)

This leather can be found in many of our single-colored leather models.

Straps or shafts made of nappa leather are characterized by their subtle grained surface, their durability and robustness. If the lining or the thong of the strap is made of cowhide, the entry phase, until the leather has adapted and become softer, can be a little longer than with lamb leather or microfibre. If there is intensive contact with moisture under pressure, there is a possibility of discoloration.

Cleaning recommendation:
Nappa leather should be wiped clean from time to time with a slightly damp cloth without excessive pressure or friction. After cleaning, the material should be completely dry before being used again in order not to impair the function of the color fixing.

Patent leather

Elegant shine and strong colors. Patent leather has its very own style and can be wonderfully processed into straps of our custom-made Duckbill sandals as well as other sandal variants. The varnish on the leather makes the material stable and dimensionally stable.

Cleaning recommendation:

Patent leather can be wiped off from time to time with a slightly damp, soft cloth. The use of aggressive cleaning agents and strong friction should be avoided in order not to damage the shine and surface of the material.

Kangaroo leather

Kangaroo nappa leather, built into some of our Exclusive models or via the myVALE configurator, is extremely thin and yet very hard-wearing. The grain (surface structure) is finer than that of nappa leather.

We get our kangaroo leather directly from Australia. There the surface of the material was fixed in color by the tannery. However, if the leather comes into contact with moisture, it can stain under pressure. Kangaroo leather is not suitable for regular use in wet areas.

Cleaning recommendation:

Kangaroo nappa leather should be wiped clean from time to time with a slightly damp cloth without excessive pressure or friction. After cleaning, the material should be completely dry before being used again in order not to impair the function of the color fixing.

Nylon

Durable nylon straps are used in our entry-level models, the "Arulos".
They are light, adapt to the shape of the foot and give the models a sporty touch.
The material is water-resistant and therefore also suitable for use in wet areas.

Due to the material used, straps made of webbing are less dimensionally stable than models made of leather or microfibre. For this reason, depending on your personal skill, you have to use your hands to help you get dressed.

Cleaning recommendation:
Belt straps made of nylon can be cleaned very easily with water and a little soap. Depending on the degree of soiling, a cloth or fingers can be used.

Salmon leather

Natural, sustainable, unique in terms of dimensions and Made in Germany.
Our salmon leather comes from organic animals that have been bred for human consumption. Thanks to the certified process and 100% chrome-free tanning, the pigmentation and characteristic structure of the skin are retained.
Models made from salmon leather can be found under the heading "Exclusive".

Cleaning recommendation:
The surface of our salmon leather straps has a special coating.
For gentle cleaning, we recommend a damp cloth and, in the case of more stubborn dirt, some curd soap.

Wool felt

Natural, cuddly and handcrafted from South Tyrol. The shafts for our wombats are made of 6mm thick felt and are lovingly drawn individually over the bars. The felt comes from regionally kept sheep and is processed into felt sheets by hand. The Zacher family in South Tyrol has been making Haunold® fulled felts from pure new sheep's wool according to traditional traditions for generations.

Cleaning recommendation:
Superficial dirt can usually be knocked out dry. In the case of more stubborn dirt, we recommend carefully brushing out with a grease-free, coarse-bristled shoe brush. Treatment with mild cleaning agents such as curd soap or the like is also possible to remove any odors, but can lead to color changes and changes to the surface structure.

Felt (two-tone)

Felt is breathable, supple and very comfortable to wear. For the production of the shafts of our 2Strap sandals, we use a two-tone felt with 10% polyester for more stability and less weight.

Cleaning recommendation:

Light, superficial soiling can i. d. Rule. knock out. If necessary, a coarse-bristled, grease-free shoe brush can be used to brush out deeper-lying dirt particles. Excessive friction and strong pressure can cause changes in color and surface structure.

Lambskin

Extremely soft, breathable and natural. We use lamb leather in a wide variety of colors mainly as a lining for our Y and X belt models. The thong of most women's and some men's models are also made of lamb leather. The supple material adapts to the contours between the big and second toe very quickly and thus shortens the entry phase.

Our lamb leather is fixed in color by the tannery. However, if there is intensive contact with moisture, the material can discolour under pressure. Nappa leather is not suitable for regular use in wet areas.

Cleaning recommendation:
Just like nappa leather, lamb leather can be cleaned with a damp cloth. With stubborn soiling, curd soap can also be used. After cleaning, the leather must be completely dry before the sandals can be worn again.

OUR FOOTBED MATERIALS

The footbed forms the basis of every custom-made myVALE sandal. Orthopedically modeled, each time an absolutely unique piece is created with the customer's personal footprint.
Depending on the shoe variant, we process three different footbed materials.

EVA (Ethylene vinyl acetate)

EVA is a polymer that is foamed in sheets with a certain strength and is used to manufacture our myVALE footbeds and midsoles. The material is non-toxic, skin-friendly, colourfast, contains no plasticizers and is very resistant to UV radiation.

The high resilience ensures that the material does not "run flat" and that the orthopedic support / function is retained for as long as possible. EVA should not be exposed to temperatures> 50 ° C in order to prevent the material from shrinking. If there is regular contact with chlorine, there is a possibility that the surface structure and color will change and the material will begin to smell.

Cleaning recommendation:

EVA is particularly easy to clean with clear water and a sponge. A little curd soap can be added for heavier soiling.

Cork

Breathable, cushioning, elastic, water-repellent and very durable.
Cork is a material with many positive properties. As a renewable raw material, it has a long tradition in the manufacture of shoes and is also fashionable.
We use cork to build our 2Strap sandals.

Cleaning recommendations:
Soiling can be easily removed with a sponge and a little water. For stubborn dirt you should use a little curd soap or another mild cleaning agent.

Poplar wood

Extremely light and yet stable, poplar wood is the perfect raw material for our myVALE Timber.
The modeled footbed is brought into the wood directly via a CNC milling machine and makes every wooden clog unique. We obtain this renewable raw material from local forests and thereby reduce transport routes and emissions.

Cleaning recommendation:

The footbeds of our Timber wooden clogs have been oiled and are therefore not susceptible to soiling. As a rule, soiling can be removed with a damp cloth.
